Optimising Inlet Valve Placement and Ducting Installation

The design of the System for existing homes is the same as for new homes.

  • The number of Inlet valves required is dictated by the size of the home.
  • Your Beam Dealer will recommend suitable positions for Hose Inlet valves so that you can adequately cover the total floor area of the property with a 10 metre hose.
  • If you can get under your property or into the ceiling spaces, then you can usually install the ducting required for a System.
  • The ducting for the pictured house was installed under the house.
  • The wire on the pipe is for the low voltage electrical control circuit.
  • Stairwells are an area where ducting can be installed to pick up second story Inlets.
  • Our installers are very experienced and would love to check out your home to see if there is a possibility of installing a system.

For most houses we can retrofit the ducting and install a Beam Central Vacuum system.

  • Smaller homes often only need 1 or 2 Inlets and are sometimes remarkably easy to do.
  • The Power Units can either go in the garage, in a suitable cupboard.
  • The diagram shows the floor-plan of a three bedroom house requiring two Hose wall Inlets.
  • The Power Unit is situated in the room off the garage, this area and the car is vacuumed from the Hose Inlet on the Power Unit.

Does your house already have ducting installed?

  • If it does, then you are ready to install your new Beam System.
  • Many progressive builders install ducting in the homes to future-proof the home.
  • Many of these homes just need to have a Beam Central Vacuum System fitted.
  • Your local Beam Dealer can advise you on the best unit and attachments for your home.
  • You will only have to fit 2-3 Inlet valves to your home.
  • In the garage there is usually a pipe and wire to fit the machine to.

To find out what new Beam Central Vacuum System would suit your home, just click on "Find a Dealer" in your area.

  • It is a simple matter of fixing a Power Unit to the wall in the garage, connecting the pipe and wires and you are set to go.
  • If there are cover plates on the walls, they are removed and Hose Inlet valves are installed.
  • The system is then tested for correct suction at each of the wall valves
